History

Our founder, Nicholas J. Downes opened the practice at its current location in 1876 and remained in practice until his death in 1915 . John E.Wallace commenced practice in 1915 until his death in 1963 . His son, Kevin P Wallace joined the firm in 1940 and remained at the helm of the Practice until his death in 2002. The late KP Wallace along with his late father served as State Solicitors for County Westmeath for almost 70 years until 1989. John Wallace, third generation of the Wallace family, continues to manage the Practice with our other Partner, Andrew Fay.
